We decided to get an Edible Arrangement. We have been talking about it for a while, because we see the billboards delivery trucks around town. The kids were so excited! I took them to Chick Fil A for their 4:30 supper and to eat the arrangement. (It was delicious!!) They played for a while. We made a quick stop at Wal-mart for an emergency pair of undergarments for Reagan (accident due to laughing so hard)! Then on to eat Mexican with Keith, Amy, their boys, and Andy and Granny. Good times with great friends. I have realized that I like to be surrounded by those that knew and loved Dustin on these special days.
We stayed home from church Wednesday night, due to a clogged potty requiring a plumber call. (The clog was far down the line and plungering didn't get it. All is well now.) We watched home videos of our family. I knew that I had videoed the kids the night before Dustin's accident, but I had forgotten that he walked by with his back to the camera. I watched it twice thinking "what if I had known at that moment." I wanted to scream at the TV, "Stay home tomorrow!" I did enjoy watching the kids watch their daddy play with them and make them laugh. Since then, that is all Reagan wants to watch. She has a lot of catching up to do, I suppose.
Thank you, God, for video cameras!
Thank you, God, for the hope you give me and my family. A fellow widow mentioned the following passage about a week ago,and it has been on my heart ever since. It really pulls together what God has been teaching me lately.
2 Corinthians 4:7-18
But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us. We are afflicted in every way, but not crushed; perplexed, but not driven to despair, persecuted, but not forsaken; struck down, but not destroyed; always carrying in the body the death of Jesus, so that the life of Jesus may also be manifested in our bodies. For we who live are always being given over to death for Jesus' sake, so that the life of Jesus also may be manifested in our mortal flesh. So death is at work in us, but life in you. Since we have the same spirit of faith according to what has been written, "I believed, and so I spoke," we also believe, and so we also speak, knowing that he who raised the Lord Jesus will raise us also with Jesus and bring us with you into his presence. For it is all for your sake, so that as grace extends to more and more people it may increase thanksgiving, to the glory of God.
So we do not lose heart. Though our outer self is wasting away, our inner self is being renewed day by day. For this light momentary affliction is preparing for us an eternal weight of glory beyond all comparison, as we look not to the things that are seen but to things that are unseen. For the things that are seen are transient, but the things that are unseen are eternal.
That is some good news right there!
I pray that each of you reading this post has this hope in Christ.
Much love to all!

What a wonderful treasure the kids have! Not only in the videos but in the hope they have because of the foundation you and Dustin layed and you continue to lay in their lives. You were covered in prayer that day!

Wendy...what an awesome verse and a beautiful legacy your children have. I wish I knew Dustin better...I just remember how precious you both were at the retreat in the Black Mtns of Georgia. As I get to know you better, I find myself wishing I knew him too. Can't wait to meet him face to face one day! You're wonderful. Love you!
