The past two nights have been difficult. Reagan is not sleeping as well without the passie. Yesterday, she cried for 1 hour before she fell asleep for her nap (I cried too) and she repeated the same scene at bedtime last night. If I'd had a passie to give her, I would have caved!! It broke my heart, but I know this is best for her. Reagan did sleep all night, but Riley was up with itchy bug bites and coughing. Reagan was coughing too, so I gave her cough medicine and she never woke up. I was coughing too, of course, but I didn't take anything b/c I needed to be alert for the kids. I think we are giving up on the pills to stop Riley from wetting at night. He has not had a dry night yet.
Someone upset me yesterday too, so I just had a bad afternoon. I am better today and I know what I am going to do to fix the situation. It is a "business" type decision and I just hate having to make these decisions and handle this sort of stuff, but again, it is for our best interest and it must be done... ugh!
Well, Reagan is in her bed for her nap right now and she is not fussing, but she is playing and talking. Hopefully she will just peacefully drift off to sleep.
In other news, Riley is going to be the first in his class to "publish" a chapter book. He wrote a book called "Extreme." It is about extreme animals and it is wonderful. He numbered the chapters from 10 down to zero, like a countdown! He included the great white shark, electric eel, gila monster, bee, tasmanian devil and so on. His teacher typed it up and e-mailed it to me and we printed it out. Over spring break he is going to illustrate it and then his teacher will laminate it and use it as an example for the class. I am so proud of him!
He also had his first upward baseball practice last night and he loved it. I am so glad, because he didn't really enjoy soccer. He said, "I am going to smack that ball into the outfield!"
This is a long post! I am really enjoying this... feel free to make comments and ask questions. I am going to post a few more pictures from their birthday photo session.
