SNAKE!

I am not telling Riley where the snake was found! (Remember that if you ask him about it!) I was cleaning out the bottom of Reagan's closet, when I saw it slither away! I moved a big plastic storage box only to discover that the carpet is wet under it (most likely from when rain water has come in when we had a heavy rain, what... a month ago?). Anyway, I called my neighbor, Jennifer and together, we CAUGHT it! It is amazing what 2 determined mothers can do. We both were sick to our stomachs as we talked our way through it. Keith figured out the type... Midland water snake... non venomous. I think Riley was a little disappointed that it was harmless, although, he immediately tried to open the terrarium. I, of course, stopped him. Keith, Amy, and Wyatt came over tonight and Keith helped the boys hold it. ( I have not downloaded those photos yet, but I will post them when I do.) Then we (Riley) released the snake in the woods by the river. It was only about 8 inches long, but that is 8 inches too long to be in my baby girl's room. Dustin would have been all over it. It would have been just another Dustin and animal story.
Yes, I guess I am going to have to get a lawyer to get my builder out to my house! I do not enjoy this part of being a grown-up!
