New Years Day in Texas!

We spent New Years with Dustin's parents in Texas. They moved to Texas from Montana in October. They live on a pecan orchard, and Riley and Grandma spent some time picking up pecans. You know Riley, he zeroed in on getting a bag full, then a bucket full.

By the end of our trip he and Grandma had just about filled this 5 gallon bucket.

Grandma and Granddad had a fun-filled day planned for all the grandkids (Riley, Kacey, Jarren and Reagan). First stop was Dino World! The kids had a great time. They got to tour a small museum, view life size dino replicas on a nature trail, sift sand for fossils and play on the dino playground. It was a very interesting place.

Reagan showing off her balancing act... gymnastics lessons are paying off???

Next "stop" a drive through the wildlife refuge. Again, very entertaining. Although, next time we will probably opt for a vehicle that all the windows roll down. The kids piled in the front seat with Grandma and Granddad, but I don't think they minded too much.

Meanwhile, I was chillin' in the backseat!

The ostriches were the funniest creatures on our tour. They each poked their head into the car, as if to say, "Hey, whatcha' got in here?" That is Grandma's head and she was NOT thrilled about the inspection.

I am not sure what this guy is, but he is very photogenic. We saw several animals that I couldn't name, along with zebras, giraffes, gazelles, deer... The kids really enjoyed themselves and were talking about it for days.
