That's My Girl and She is Five!

Happy Birthday, Baby Girl!

Your daddy gave you that nickname probably before you were even born, and it has stuck! You are such a joy and you give me so much material for this blog. You keep me laughing and thinking. I look forward to watching you grow, learn and mature. You are my sweetheart! I love you!

The Latest Reagan Stories:

Reagan and I in Costco, looking for strawberries, an older man points them out and comments that they look good.

Reagan (loudly): He looks like he goes fishing.

Me: What? Why do you say that?

Reagan: He's old. Old people like to go fishing.

*******
Again, Reagan and I, in Wal-mart this time, looking for a PSP game for Riley.

Reagan: There's one you can play, Mommy.

(Pointing at ToomRaider!)

Me: Really? Why?

Reagan: You look like her.

This from a child who thinks I sing well too. (I do not look anything like the girl in Toomraider.)

Granny and I were discussing vacation options for the summer. I said that I am really not a sand person, which means the actual beach is not needed, and Riley's skin gets so irritated by the ocean, sun and sand, that he's really not a beach person either. Granny said she wasn't a beach person either. Reagan chimed in, "I'm a beach person!"

For Reagan's birthday, I decided to let her have a gymnastics party with a few girlfriends. As she listed the girls she wanted to invite, she turned to me with the biggest grin on her face (could hardly speak for smiling) and asked, "What about some boyfriends?"

********
While we were in TX, Reagan asked uncle Jason (Dustin's brother) if she could call him "Daddy". Out of the blue while riding in the car with him, she also commented, "You look like my daddy."

********
A few weeks ago, we all went deer hunting with Paw Paw AND Granny! As we were getting ready at Granny and Paw Paw's, Riley, Reagan, Granny and I were at the sink in Granny's bathroom.
Me: Riley, aren't you glad Reagan is a tom boy, just like you said you wanted? Look at her in all her camo!
Riley: Yeah.
Reagan(without missing a beat): I need some lipstick!

********
When Keith and Amy and the boys came over for Riley's birthday, last Sunday, Reagan greeted Keith by yelling and punching him.

Reagan: Mr. Keith! (punch) Mr. Keith! (punch) Mr. Keith! (punch) Come see my purse!

She took him over to her purse and opened it up to show him the .... rocks!

********
She was trying on some hand-me-downs today and we came across a cute pink and white checked outfit (matching top and capri pants) that could be monogrammed.
Me: We could get an "R" monogrammed on the top.
Reagan: Or we could get my name Reagan.... or I know what I want on it.... the NIKE SWOOSH!

Happy Birthday, Baby Girl, keep the stories coming!
