Ready for school in her FAVORITE! DRESS! She will stand in front of the dryer waiting for her "brown cover-up" to be done. I couldn't pick just one picture!Ok, so they call it Day School at her new school. It will always be MDO to me. She had a fantastic day. She got to put on the shiny shoes in Ms. Carol's class. She got to draw a picture (of herself) with markers. She "didn't play with anyone," which I don't believe for one minute! She "ate ALL of my lunch, except the hotdog. I want it warm." Her teacher has a whistle that is "too loud." Ms. Carol read them a book about an alligator, and I think it is a book that we have. I can't believe I got all of this information from her on the first day.
At 3 years old, Riley rarely told me anything about his day. These days I get most of my information from him as he is going to bed. Tonight he asked, "Mommy, can I just talk to you until I get sleepy?" How is a mother to resist such a request? Of course I said yes. I found out all about what's been going on in his class.
On Tuesday night we had a deep discussion about the tooth fairy. (He has an extremely loose tooth.) He was doubting her existence. I simply asked, "What do you think?" He said, "I don't think so." I told him he was correct. I just don't see the point in lying to my child. It has always been my policy when asked if Santa and others are real, I simply turn it back to him and ask, "What do you think?" I want Riley to share my faith in God, someone he can't see. When he finds out that all these "gift givers" aren't real, who is to say that he wouldn't doubt the existence of God too? If he can't trust me to tell him the truth about the tooth fairy, how can I expect him to trust me to tell him the truth about God? We went on to discuss Santa too, but he said, "Well, I know Santa is real, but I am not so sure about that bunny!"
CRAFT TIME!

Riley loves a good craft activity, so I knew this crocodile bead set would be a hit. It was only 78 cents at Wal-mart. They had all kinds of animals. . . We'll be going back for more. He attached it to his backpack.

I think you are totally right about the tooth fairy, santa, and Riley trusting you when it comes to believing in God. I think you have a great outlook and you are such a wonderful mommy. Thanks for sharing your insight. I love keeping up with you all. Much love, Sherry
