Time Capsule at Church

Our church is celebrating 100 years this year as well as 20 years at the current location. As a part of the celebration, we are doing a time capsule to be opened in 50 years. Riley, Reagan, and I each got to do one page. Here are the kids' pages. You'll just have to wait 50 years to read mine! :-)

Riley's page - As he was drawing it, he said, "I am going to be so proud of this!" Later he clarified that he is going to be so proud of it when he is 57! Notice my pink shirt and my "Daisy Duke" shorts. Riley drew himself wearing the shirt he was wearing on Sunday. And don't forget little Reagan with her pink dress. He actually looked at a picture of the church (from the church directory) to draw the church.

Here is Little Miss's picture. It is a rainbow and sunshine (look closely, it is yellow). We outlined her hand and she insisted upon having a bracelet drawn on her wrist! ( I covered up our last name when I scanned it in for the blog.)

I am sure there are plenty of funny things going on around here. I need to jot them down as they are happening, so when I sit down at the computer I don't draw a blank. One thing I can think of is when Riley reads aloud and comes to a word that starts with "P" that he doesn't know, he will just say, "piranha." For example, "Johnny is so predictable" is read, "Johnny is so piranha." He does it with a straight face too and he does it with other words too, and they all have to do with predator animals. It is pretty funny.

Well, I told Riley I needed him to go to sleep quickly tonight so I can read my book for biblical theology, but I have e-mailed and blogged instead. As my mom would say, "Wendy, do you have a book to read?" (When I called home while I was in college and I would linger on the phone, it was usually because I was procrastinating.) Reading has never been my favorite thing... especially serious, history type books. Back to Riley, he actually rolled over and fell right asleep after I said that to him. He was in such a good mood this afternoon. We had a rough Sat night through Monday night, but I am glad to see him back to his old self. We practiced for his math test this afternoon and tonight he thanked God for math and drawing and eating, because he is good at all those things. (I had complemented him on all three areas today.)

Gymnastics and baseball pictures to come... stay tuned.

Alright... I gotta hit the books... goodnight.
