On Thursday, Riley was not enjoying doing his homework and I was trying to be light-hearted and cheer him up rather than being stern, so I gave him a piece of gum. Attitude changed. Homework done. He went to play with Sister who noticed gum in brother's mouth. A blur of Reagan ran through the kitchen saying, "I go get my gum." That is when it hit me that I forgot to get her to spit out her gum before her rest time! I followed her to her room where she carefully peeled her gum of her night stand, showed it to me (grinning from ear to ear), and popped it into her mouth before I could protest.
By the way gum chewing is a new ability for Reagan. I have used the excuse that she swallows the gum for quite some time now, but over Labor Day weekend, her cousins successfully taught her to chew without swallowing the gum. She has been hooked ever since... like mother (and Granny).
Another funny - We were putting on shoes to go to church Wednesday night when...
Reagan: We went to muse-gick today. I was not the lime leader.
Me: You went to music and you were not the line leader?
Reagan: Yes, I was the lie -a..... lie..... I was not the lime leader.
Me: Were you the caboose? Were you the end of the line?
Reagan (getting a little frustrated): No! I was the lie... lie-a...
Me: Were you the librarian?
Reagan (flinging her arms around me and tackling me): YES!!!!
She was so excited that I got it! It was precious!
