Rarely At a Loss for Drama

Today during Biblical Theology, the childcare worker (Laura), came to get me out of class, because Reagan was hurt. I asked if it was her mouth... yes. Later I found out from Reagan that she was "pretending to be a kitty cat and she ran into the boy's leg." We are still unsure about how it all went down, but her "good" front tooth was knocked back. I calmed her down, teared up a little myself and took her straight to the dentist. She never cried again... what a trooper! He said both teeth were hit, but only the "good" one bled. He reset the tooth and put a "splint" on the front 6 teeth. She will wear this for about 2 weeks and we will have to wait and see what happens next. She still may lose it. Her gums are bruised all the way from her teeth up into her lip. She looked in the mirror at the dentist office and said, "I not look pretty. I don't like it." I quickly told her she is pretty and how proud I am of her for being so brave. She is feeling fine; she even went to gymnastics this afternoon. She did come home and take a 2+ hour nap - - sweetheart. Driving down the road I thought about mothers of kids with cancer - one in particular. They would give anything for their child to have a cosmetic problem instead of a life threatening problem. Then I thought of Dustin and his death and how I thought then, "Why couldn't our big surprise or big change in our life have been an unexpected pregnancy or something like that?" I am thankful that Reagan is healthy. Thank you, God, for this minor set back.
Here is a picture of my brave little girl. It kind of looks like braces, except the brackets are just dots of adhesive stuff. (don't you love it when I use technical terms)
You hardly notice the teeth because of those big beautiful blue eyes.
Now for the close up.

On Monday afternoon, we got the wild idea to go ahead and put up the Christmas tree. After I got the tree put together and the garland on, I sat on the couch and handed them ornaments to put on the tree. Above is one of the two spots on the tree where Reagan placed ALL of "her " ornaments. We had a lot of fun - definitely a memory making event.

I put the training wheels back on Riley's old bike and lowered the seat for Reagan. She is so excited to use a big kid bike. She is interested in getting some pink pom poms for the handle bars, though! Please excuse the outfit; it was play day.
