My friend Shannon gave this cross to me for Christmas, and Reagan was so very interested in it from day one. She had a definite opinion where it should be placed and would ask if she could hold it and look at it. About a week after Christmas, she was holding it and talking to me while I was preparing lunch. The following conversation ensues:
Reagan: The angel came to Mary and said, "Don't be afraid. You're going to have a baby." And the wise men came and the shepherds. Baby Jesus was born. Mommy, I can say the words!
Me: Yes you can! I am so proud of you!
Reagan: Can you say the words, Mommy?
Me: Yes, I think so.
Reagan: Say it.
I gave my best synopsis while my baby girl sat wide-eyed, taking it all in. It was a precious moment.
