Run on the Treadmill or Blog and Eat Raisinets?

You see what I chose.

A lot on my mind, so I will type and share the love. Riley has been struggling with remembering to bring home his jacket and homework assignments, etc. I have lectured. I have put a pack of post it notes in his notebook so he can write himself notes (yeah, right, like that'll work!) I have taken away the Wii (gasp!) on the days that he has forgotten said items. He still struggles. I can still remember having to get my mom to take me back up to the school to get my things I forgot, so he gets it honestly. Of course, God is quick to put me in my place. Last Saturday, Riley had a basketball game at 11 am. I kept looking at my watch and thinking, "Game's not till 11. I have plenty of time to shower." Then I looked down at my watch and it was 10:15; we are supposed to be at the game by 10:30. Reagan and I were still in our PJs, so no shower for mom. We made it to the car, but half way to the church, I realized I left my purse and the camera ( I have yet to take one picture of the boy playing basketball this season!). About that time, Reagan realized she didn't bring her pony to play with during the game. She said, "I'll be ok, just like you, Mommy, because you forgot to take a shower, you forgot your purse AND your camera." She's just here to make me feel better! I am impressed she remembered the list. I accused Riley of sneezing on me and giving me "forgetfulness fever." He laughed out loud.

Also, a friend and I are starting a widow's ministry at our church and at the kick off dinner, I will be sharing my "widow story." I am, of course, procrastinating. I have started writing a little of it, but it is hard to make it not sound choppy. I am in prayer over it, so I know God will direct my words. Anyway, I am excited about what God has planned for this ministry, and I look forward to being a part of it.

Here are a few fun pictures from this month. Notice the theme: eating!

Being "sick" isn't all that bad when you get to dress up in your favorite church dress and lick the banana muffin bowl!

Later that day when Riley got home from school, they cut out and decorated green finger jello.

Riley's creation... that is Cool Whip, M n Ms, a gummie worm and some snowflake sprinkles. YUM??

How good the cookies are is directly proportional to how dirty one gets while baking.

Decorating cookies is serious business!

NOT!
