We had a great but fast visit with Dustin's side of the family a few weeks ago. We flew to TX where we spent 2 days with Jason, Traci and the kids; then we all packed up and drove 8 hours to Kansas to spend 2 days with Dustin's parents, grandmother, and aunt and uncle. It was a whirlwind of swimming and eating at Pizza Hut and riding in the car. Traci and I exhausted all conversation topics. We would look at each other and say,"Talk to me." We just about ran out of topics. The kids kept us busy (mostly Reagan) with requests for DVDs and snacks and potty breaks. At one point, Reagan actually fell asleep for about 5 minutes, but then a potty break was needed for another child. Nap time was then over and never revisited... by Reagan. The kids had a great time playing with their cousins. Although we don't see them often, they just jump right in and play like they see each other everyday.
We took the kids to the local pool in KS. The boys told us it was the best pool, because there aren't any rules on the slide. "You can go down head first, sideways, on your stomach... what ever you want to do!" They thought that was the BEST! As Reagan ran into the zero entry pool, all the adults yelled, "Walk!" She proceeded to fall flat on her back, but popped up and yelled back, "I'm OK!" It was totally one of those Pee Herman moments of "I meant to do that!" (Remember when he flew off his bicycle?)

Grandma and Granddad with all the grands.
Grandma-Great (Rod's mother) and the great-grands (she has many more, by the way). Oh, to look this good at 93. As I mentioned above, we made several trips to the local Pizza Hut across from our hotel. Grandma-Great walked across the four lane road with us! No problem! She is amazing. I reminded her of the advice she gave me concerning Riley's inability to sit still during a meal. She told me to just, "Stick to it and keep at it and he will eventually get it." Sounds simple, but it kept me from pulling my hair out at the time. It worked too.
