Update and a Question

Update...
  • Joe, my builder, has not sprayed the side of the house with the sealer... surprised? NO!
  • He won't help me get the front door refinished... surprised? NO!
  • The painter did come by on Saturday and paint the final piece of trim that needed to be painted one year ago! Surprised? yes!
  • Our good friends, Victoria and Chad, came over to visit on Saturday. Chad builds houses on the other side of town. He did several things on my "to do list" including repairing the crack in the grout on my bathroom floor and filling in the grout behind the stove where the backsplash meets the counter (Something Joe should have had done one year ago!). Thank you, CHAD!

Ok, this may be long. I have wanted to blog about this for quite a while. It has been on my mind a lot lately for some reason. The Feb after D's accident, I was taking the kids to the mall to get their b'day pictures made. Mom was with me. I had to stop quick at a light and I watched in my rear view mirror as the car behind me rear-ended us. Everybody was fine, most of the damage was to the other car, because any scratches or dents in our bumper, just blended with the others :) I called Andy to see if I should report it; he said yes just in case I had trouble later on.... So we called the police and when he got there, he asked me to get in the police car to fill out the accident report. I am getting to the point now. One of his first questions was about insurance and I explained to him about Dustin and the insurance was being switched to my name and I wasn't sure if the number had changed and all that. I had stumbled over my words and teared up. He just looked at me and said he was so sorry. Meanwhile, I had noticed that the radio was on and he had turned it down, but not off. He asked maybe two more questions, then reached for the radio volume and asked if I listened to this kind of music (Christian music). I said yes. He turned it up and asked if I had heard this song. I said I don't think so. I looked over at him and he had tears running down his face. The song was about a man in Heaven saying how beautiful it is and how you (loved ones) should know how happy he is in Heaven. I can't remember all of it. We both sat there and cried through the whole song. He then shared with me that that morning during his quiet time he had asked God to use him that day to reach someone on the job. He told me that he wanted to be sure he said what the Holy Spirit wanted him to say. He would stop talking for a minute and I think he was praying. He said things like the words in the song; he said that he felt like I was handling the crisis well... and so on. We both cried the whole time. Meanwhile the twenty-something guy that hit me is sitting on the guardrail with his live-in girlfriend wondering (along with my mom) what in the world could be taking so long. It was a divine series of events. I left his car and was told I could leave the scene. I still wonder if he told the guy and girl why it had taken so long. Anyway, I have been wanting to write that story out for a while now, but my question to you is... what is that song? I listen to Christian radio stations all the time and I have never heard it again! I want to hear it again. Thanks!
