Our Weekend

I am so excited to report that I have 5 subscribers, ok well, one is my junk mail account and one is my mother! But I have 3 OTHER subscribers!! :) I think this will be a nice option for many of you who check my blog often, only to see that I haven't posted anything new. And, yes, I am working on that too. I would love to post more often, but I am afraid I would disappoint you with boring posts. Just how often do you want me to brag about how cute, funny and smart my kids are?

I had a fantastic, rejuvenating, special weekend getaway with Tricia and friends. I finally finished cutting all the squares for the quilts I am making for the kids. I will try to take a picture of the squares and post it when I get done typing. This is the second or third trip where I have worked on this project. I remember well when I got home from the first one and Riley asked where his quilt was. I broke it to him that it would be quite a while before I would be done. I need to see if I can get my grandmother's sewing machine put into a sewing machine stand that I already have. Then I could move it into my bedroom and work on it when I have a spare moment (HA!). I am just excited to have the cutting part done.

Close to 400 squares!

Mom and Dad kept the kids. Paw Paw took the boys to the deer camp Saturday afternoon, and I got the call, "He doesn't need stitches, but Riley cut his foot." He is absolutely fine, but he has a nice slice on his foot. (I think he is a little proud of it.) Reagan got to go with Granny, Aunt Holly, and Jenna to see Allyn perform at her last day of cheerleader camp. Of course, Reagan loved it. I had hoped that at some point someone would hand her the microphone and she could shout, "Shake it up, girls, uh huh. You can do it. Uh huh!" complete with inflections at just the right spots. She has a "Bella" cheerleader video that teaches a similar chant. Yet another opportunity to post to You Tube.

Well, Riley wasn't quite ready to come home, so he and Tyler are spending the night at G &PP's house. We were over halfway home when Reagan took off her headphones and asked, "Mommy, where's Riley?"

This weekend we also got to see my cousin (Chris), his wife (Sabra), and their son (Samuel who is turning 3 in September) as they were passing through. It was great to see them in person. I keep up with them through her blog, but I hadn't seen them in person since Dustin's funeral. Riley REALLY enjoyed playing with Samuel and CHRIS. They ran around the house shooting nerf bullets at each other. Boys, Boys, Boys!
