While we were at the beach, Riley begged for a hermit crab, so I caved... big time. He got 2 and Reagan got one. It wasn't until we got back to the condo that we realized that Reagan's hermit crab wasn't moving. At all. Because it was DEAD. We had bought a dead hermit crab. How embarrassing. Did Reagan cry? No. She just went around to every adult and told them her hermit crab is dead. I took it back and exchanged it for a live one. You would have thought I had bought her a new car.
"OH, THANK YOU, MOMMY, THANK YOU FOR MY NEW HERMIT CRAB!"
She is doing very well in the gratitude department. Well, remember, the title of this post. Sometime during the night last night, the second hermit crab bit the dust. She had me take it out of the cage and watched me flush it. It didn't phase her a bit, and her sweet brother offered her one of his (with the stipulation that it stay in the current cage with the other crab). We'll see just how long this lasts.

Another thing Riley and Reagan did on the rainy Saturday was to sing to each other. It was one of those moments when you wish you had a camera mounted on your head to capture the moment. They were playing in the toy room when Riley broke out in song about REAGAN! It went something like this:
"Reagan is my sister and she is so hilarious. She makes me smile and laugh."
Reagan looks up and smiles at Riley as if to say, "your singing about me?" Then she tries to sing about Riley, but I couldn't make out any of the words except "Riley."
It was a tender moment.
Of course, a few minutes later he was locking her out of his room.
Ahhh, nothing like the love shared between siblings!
