Nurse Kay

Friday night I spent the night again at the hospital with Dad. At the beginning of evening visiting hours, Kay said I needed to sleep in the waiting room, so I spent the next couple of hours in Daddy's room intending to go out and sleep on the blow up mattress I had brought. Kay is on top of it. I soon realized I liked her. She was good with Dad and she is very knowledgeable. This is not her first rodeo. She is on top of things. At 10:30 (thirty minutes after visiting hours had ended), I asked for a pillow and blanket. She said they really weren't supposed to do that, but she went and got them, handed them to me and I told her thank you and started to go. She said, very matter-of -fact-like, "You can stay in here." I didn't question her. I just said thank you and texted Mom, "I passed the test!" I think she told me I couldn't, but then spent time with me to "test" me to see if I would follow her instruction and how I would handle Daddy.... and I passed! :)

Yesterday, Amy and I prayed that Kay would be his nurse again, and she was. Mom spent the night last night and went thru the same! test! Mom texted me at 10:30 and said the same thing! We never said anything to Kay about the "test", but I know I would be the same way if I were a nurse, it is probably very necessary.

Thank you, God, for sending us Kay.
